On August 30, 2024 I was given a diploma for being part of the Honor Roll of the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Technology (UNT), for the 2023 academic year. The list —“Honor Roll and designation of Flag Bearers and Escorts”— brings together the faculty’s ten top averages, and I was on it with an 8.31 average in Computer Engineering. That same list was the one that, months later, designated me flag escort.

Having the faculty recognize sustained effort throughout the degree means a great deal: it’s not just the diploma, it’s the confirmation that the early mornings, the finals and the consistency were worth it. If there’s one thing I learned over these years, it’s that results don’t show up overnight; they’re built subject by subject, with discipline and without giving up, and this diploma is, to me, a symbol of exactly that. Thank you to the teachers who demanded a lot from me and supported me, and to my family who was there at every stage: a recognition like this is yours too. 🎓
